Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

3 cups cooked jasmine rice

1 red bell pepper, diced

1 yellow bell pepper, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1/4 cup beef broth

2 green onions, sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the jasmine rice according to package instructions and keep warm.

2. Dice the bell peppers and onion, then mince the garlic and ginger.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef until browned completely.

4. Drain excess grease if necessary, then add the diced onion and bell peppers to the skillet.

5. Cook the vegetables for several minutes until slightly softened while still crisp.

6. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

7. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, cornstarch, and beef broth.

8. Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

9. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed by adding extra soy sauce or chili flakes.

10. Serve the beef mixture over warm rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for the best balance of flavor and texture without excess grease.

Do not overcook the bell peppers because they taste best with a slight crunch.

For extra flavor, use freshly grated ginger and garlic instead of powdered versions.
