Ingredients

1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped

1 head romaine lettuce, chopped

2 medium tomatoes, sliced

1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

6 pepperoncini peppers

1 cup seasoned croutons

1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

1/3 cup olive oil

3 tablespoons white vinegar

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Wash and thoroughly dry the iceberg and romaine lettuce. Chop into bite-sized pieces and place into a large serving bowl.

2. Slice the tomatoes and thinly slice the red onion. Add them to the bowl along with the pepperoncini peppers.

3. In a small bowl or jar, combine olive oil, white vinegar, Italian seasoning, garlic, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk or shake until fully blended.

4. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the salad ingredients.

5. Add the croutons immediately before serving to maintain their crunch.

6. Pour the dressing over the salad gradually while tossing gently to coat all ingredients evenly.

7. Chill the salad for 10 to 15 minutes before serving for the best flavor and texture.

8. Serve cold with extra parmesan cheese and black pepper if desired.

Notes

Use freshly grated parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture.

Always dry the lettuce completely before adding dressing to keep the salad crisp.

Add croutons just before serving so they stay crunchy and fresh.
