Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup chocolate chips

1 cup M&M candies

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.

3. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

6. Fold in chocolate chips and two-thirds of the M&Ms.

7. Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheet. Press remaining M&Ms on top.

8. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly underdone.

9. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Always use room temperature butter and egg for smooth dough consistency.

Do not overbake—cookies will continue cooking as they cool.

Press extra M&Ms on top before baking for a festive look.
