If you’re looking for a simple, satisfying, and crowd-pleasing recipe, this is one you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced

2 cups cooked white beans (or 2 cans, drained and rinsed)

1 medium onion, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup tomato sauce

1/2 cup barbecue sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp mustard

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Slice the kielbasa into thick rounds. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage on both sides until slightly crispy.

2. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and red bell pepper until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

3. Transfer the sausage and vegetables into the crockpot. Add the white beans.

4. In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

5. Pour the sauce over the ingredients in the crockpot and stir gently to combine.

6. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.

7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality kielbasa for the best smoky flavor.

For a thicker consistency, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

You can adjust sweetness by reducing or increasing the brown sugar to taste.
