A crave-worthy sandwich made with seasoned ground beef, layers of melted sharp cheddar, and golden grilled bread. The Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt is a quick, satisfying meal perfect for lunch, dinner, or even an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 4 slices thick-cut white bread or sourdough
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or 4 slices)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Add diced onions now if desired. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On a clean skillet over medium-low heat, place one slice of bread butter-side-down. Add a layer of cheese, a scoop of seasoned beef, another layer of cheese, then the second slice of bread butter-side-up.
- Grill the sandwich 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing in half.
