Description

A crave-worthy sandwich made with seasoned ground beef, layers of melted sharp cheddar, and golden grilled bread. The Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt is a quick, satisfying meal perfect for lunch, dinner, or even an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 4 slices thick-cut white bread or sourdough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or 4 slices)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Add diced onions now if desired. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On a clean skillet over medium-low heat, place one slice of bread butter-side-down. Add a layer of cheese, a scoop of seasoned beef, another layer of cheese, then the second slice of bread butter-side-up.
  5. Grill the sandwich 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from skillet and let rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing in half.
