Ingredients
4 oz smoked brisket, chopped
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 fresh jalapeños, finely diced
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
10 egg roll wrappers
Oil for frying
1/4 cup honey, for drizzling
Instructions
1. Chop the smoked brisket into small pieces and mix with softened cream cheese and diced jalapeños in a bowl. Add shredded cheese if using.
2. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling near the center.
3. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top corner with water. Repeat with all wrappers.
4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Remove from oil and let drain on a wire rack.
7. Warm the honey slightly, then drizzle over the hot egg rolls just before serving.
Notes
Let your filling come to room temperature so it cooks evenly inside the wrapper.
Don’t overcrowd the frying pan—work in small batches for the crispiest results.
For a spicier twist, use spicy honey or add crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
