Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup strawberry purée (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: a few drops pink or red food coloring

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons strawberry purée
  • Optional: crushed freeze-dried strawberries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. Purée strawberries in a blender or food processor. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and strawberry purée until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mix until just combined.
  5. Add food coloring if using, then pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 28–32 minutes, until the edges are set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely in the pan.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar with strawberry purée to make glaze. Adjust consistency as needed.
  9. Spread glaze evenly over cooled brownies.
  10. Chill for 30 minutes, slice into squares, and serve.
