It’s a dreamy combination that works as a quick breakfast idea, an easy dessert recipe, or even a light treat for dinner parties. Whether you’re looking for fun food ideas or reliable dessert inspiration, this layered fruit pudding will become a favorite in your rotation.

Ingredients

1 package (5.1 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix

3 cups cold whole milk

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed

2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

3 bananas, sliced

2 cups vanilla wafers (whole or crushed)

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until it begins to thicken. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

2. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully incorporated.

3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and fluffy. Set aside in the fridge.

4. Wash and slice the strawberries. Peel and slice the bananas. Toss banana slices in lemon juice to prevent browning if preparing ahead.

5. In a trifle dish, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, then add a layer of the pudding mixture, followed by sliced strawberries and bananas. Repeat the layers until you reach the top.

6. Finish with a final layer of whipped topping and garnish with extra fruit and crushed wafers.

7. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

For best texture and flavor, chill overnight before serving.

Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid a mushy texture.

For a more homemade taste, replace store-bought whipped topping with freshly whipped cream.
