Ingredients

1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries

1 cup strawberry jam or preserves

16 ladyfingers (Savoiardi style)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/4 cup milk (optional, for soaking)

Instructions

1. Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Set aside half for garnish.

2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

3. Add powdered sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix well.

4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

6. Slightly warm the strawberry jam and mix in a few chopped strawberries. Let cool.

7. Line the bottom of an 8×8 dish with ladyfingers. Lightly dip in milk if needed.

8. Spread a layer of cheesecake cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

9. Spoon the strawberry jam mixture on top and add sliced strawberries.

10. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers, cream, and strawberry jam.

11. Finish with a thick layer of cream on top.

12. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

13. Before serving, garnish with whole strawberries, mint leaves, and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for the creamiest texture.

Chill the dessert overnight for the best flavor and firmness.

For a fruity twist, substitute strawberries with raspberries or mixed berries.
