Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

0.5 teaspoon salt

0.25 teaspoon dried parsley

1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

1 cup buttermilk, cold

0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

0.25 teaspoon garlic powder

0.5 teaspoon dried parsley or fresh chopped parsley


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.

3. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese, coating it lightly with the dry mix.

4. In another bowl, whisk together cold buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.

5. Pour wet ingredients into the dry and gently fold until just combined—don’t overmix.

6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.

7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

8. While still warm, mix garlic butter topping ingredients and brush over the loaf.

9. Let it rest in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then slice and serve.
