  • Smoked Sausage: 1 lb, sliced
  • Chicken Broth: 3 cups
  • Heavy Cream: 1 cup
  • Honey: 2 tbsp
  • Penne Pasta: 12 oz
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1 cup, freshly grated
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Olive Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Salt and Black Pepper: To taste
  • Italian Seasoning: 1 tsp
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (Optional): For heat

Instructions

  1. Sear the Chicken and Sausage: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add chicken breast and smoked sausage. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from pot and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In the same pot, add more olive oil if needed. Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add Liquids and Pasta: Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, and honey. Stir to combine. Add uncooked penne pasta and stir to ensure it’s submerged.
  4. Simmer Until Pasta is Cooked: Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cover. Cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Incorporate Cheese and Meat: Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Add the cooked chicken and sausage, mixing well. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
