It’s a delicious stack of maple pancakes sandwiching savory sausage, gooey cheese, crispy hash browns, and fresh tomato. Ingredients

2 thick maple pancakes

1 sausage patty

1 slice cheddar cheese

1 slice tomato

1 hash brown patty

1 teaspoon butter

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare pancake batter (or use mix), adding a little maple syrup if desired, and cook two thick pancakes until golden brown.

2. Cook the sausage patty in a skillet over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.

3. Cook the hash brown patty until crispy and golden in a skillet or oven.

4. Toast the cooked pancakes with butter in a skillet until lightly crisped on the edges.

5. Place cheddar cheese on the sausage patty while still hot and cover the skillet briefly to melt the cheese.

6. Assemble the sandwich by stacking pancake, melted cheese on sausage, tomato slice, hash brown, and top with the second pancake.

7. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired or serve on the side for dipping.

Notes

Let each component cool slightly before assembling to prevent sogginess.

You can make pancakes and sausage ahead and reheat to save time.

To get ultra-melty cheese, cover the skillet while it’s melting for even heat.
