Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Add onion and garlic halfway through; cook until softened. Drain the grease.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and softened cream cheese. Mix until combined, then remove from heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream until smooth.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the casserole dish.
- Pour the egg mixture over the beef.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the egg layer is set.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar and chopped bacon.
- Bake for an additional 5–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
