Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup chopped raw white onion
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and transfer to the crockpot.
2. Add chopped onion, garlic, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, and all seasonings. Stir well to combine.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, stirring occasionally.
4. Cook hot dogs using your preferred method during the last 15 minutes.
5. Lightly toast buns in a skillet or under a broiler.
6. Place hot dogs in buns and spoon chili generously over the top.
7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over hot chili to melt.
