Lace Cookies with Chocolate are crisp, golden, and delicately thin treats made from butter, brown sugar, and finely chopped nuts. Finished with a dip or layer of rich chocolate, they combine caramelized crunch with creamy indulgence—ideal for special occasions or a refined tea-time snack.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds or pecans
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped or in chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in brown sugar, flour, and salt until smooth.
- Remove from heat. Mix in milk, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
- Drop small spoonfuls (1 tsp) of batter on prepared sheets, spaced at least 3 inches apart.
- Flatten slightly and bake for 6–8 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool completely on the baking sheet before removing.
- Melt chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
- Dip cooled cookies or sandwich two together with chocolate.
- Place on parchment and let chocolate set at room temperature or in fridge.
