Description

Lace Cookies with Chocolate are crisp, golden, and delicately thin treats made from butter, brown sugar, and finely chopped nuts. Finished with a dip or layer of rich chocolate, they combine caramelized crunch with creamy indulgence—ideal for special occasions or a refined tea-time snack.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds or pecans
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped or in chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in brown sugar, flour, and salt until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat. Mix in milk, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
  4. Drop small spoonfuls (1 tsp) of batter on prepared sheets, spaced at least 3 inches apart.
  5. Flatten slightly and bake for 6–8 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool completely on the baking sheet before removing.
  7. Melt chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
  8. Dip cooled cookies or sandwich two together with chocolate.
  9. Place on parchment and let chocolate set at room temperature or in fridge.
