Ingredients
For the Shrimp
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Chow Mein
- 8 oz chow mein noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 green onions, sliced
Optional Add-ins
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp oyster or hoisin sauce
- Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and toss with cornstarch.
- In a bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients and set aside.
- Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Sear shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Add more oil if needed and stir-fry broccoli for 2–3 minutes.
- Add cooked noodles and sauce to the pan; toss to coat.
- Return shrimp and stir-fry everything together 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
