Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Chow Mein

  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp oyster or hoisin sauce
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and toss with cornstarch.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients and set aside.
  3. Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  6. Add more oil if needed and stir-fry broccoli for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Add cooked noodles and sauce to the pan; toss to coat.
  8. Return shrimp and stir-fry everything together 2–3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
