Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Chopped green onions or chives

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cornstarch until well coated.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

  4. Remove excess oil from the pan, then pour in the sauce. Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
  5. Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the glaze. Cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.
