- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Optional Add-ins:
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- Fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add diced onions and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess fat.
- Mix in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Pour in broth and bring to a gentle boil. Add elbow macaroni and stir.
- Reduce heat to low, cover loosely, and simmer for 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
