Ingredients

2 cups bowtie pasta (uncooked)

1 pound ground beef

3 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until fully browned, then drain excess fat.

3. Reduce the heat to low. Push the beef to one side and melt the butter on the other side of the pan. Add the minced garlic to the butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Stir the garlic butter into the beef until fully combined.

5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss everything to coat evenly.

6. Sprinkle in the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until fully melted and creamy. Add more pasta water if needed for a smoother sauce.

7. Season with salt and black pepper. Stir in the grated Parmesan and chopped parsley if using.

8. Serve warm with extra cheese or parsley on top if desired.

Notes

Use freshly minced garlic for the best flavor—pre-minced or powdered just won’t give the same depth.

Add the cheese over low heat to avoid clumping or graininess.

For a lighter version, try swapping ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based protein.
