Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup eggnog (full-fat)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
4 cups powdered sugar (plus more if needed)
3 cups white chocolate chips or melting wafers (for coating)
1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening (optional)
Ground cinnamon (for garnish)
Ground nutmeg (for garnish)
Crushed candied ginger (for garnish)
Sea salt flakes or edible glitter (optional toppings)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add eggnog, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
2. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until the mixture forms a thick dough. Add more sugar if the dough is too soft.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
4. Scoop and roll into bite-sized balls using your hands or a small cookie scoop. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Chill the balls again for 30 minutes until firm.
6. Melt white chocolate with optional coconut oil in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
7. Dip each truffle in melted chocolate, allow excess to drip off, and place back on the sheet.
8. Immediately garnish with toppings like cinnamon, nutmeg, or candied ginger while coating is still wet.
9. Let the coating fully set at room temperature or in the fridge.
10. Serve or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Always chill the truffle dough thoroughly before rolling and dipping for the best texture.
Use high-quality white chocolate for a smooth, glossy finish.
Add rum extract or bourbon for an adult twist with extra holiday flavor.
