Ingredients

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast sliced thin

4 cups green cabbage chopped

1 red bell pepper sliced

3 cloves garlic minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 cup chicken broth

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 green onions sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Slice the chicken thinly against the grain and toss it with cornstarch and 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes while preparing the vegetables.

2. Whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken broth, and sesame oil in a small bowl.

3. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and sear 1–2 minutes undisturbed. Cook 5–7 minutes total until nearly done. Remove and set aside.

4. Add remaining oil. Stir in garlic and ginger and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Add cabbage and red bell pepper. Stir fry 3–5 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

6. Return chicken to pan. Pour sauce over and toss well. Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything.

7. Remove from heat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

Use high heat to achieve proper stir fry texture and prevent soggy vegetables.

Slice chicken evenly and against the grain for tender results.

Add sesame oil at the end of cooking to preserve aroma and flavor.
