Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional Add-ins:
- 1/2 cup cooked crumbled bacon
- 1/4 cup diced jalapeños
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Grate fresh cheese for a smoother melt.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a bowl, combine shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, sour cream, and milk. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Heat the Dip:
- Microwave Method: Transfer to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
- Stovetop Method: Heat over low heat in a small saucepan, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and creamy (5-7 minutes).
- Adjust Consistency: If the dip is too thick, add 1-2 tbsp of milk and stir until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
- Serve & Garnish: Transfer to a serving dish while warm. Top with green onions, bacon, or extra cheese. Serve immediately with chips, crackers, or veggies!
