Ingredients

1 cup creamy Biscoff spread

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

30 soft caramels

2 tablespoons heavy cream


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper, greased lightly.

2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and Biscoff spread until smooth.

3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl and stir until well combined.

4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a thick dough forms.

6. Fold in most of the chocolate chips, saving some for topping.

7. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the pan evenly.

8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramels with heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

9. Pour the caramel over the base layer and spread gently.

10. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the caramel and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.

11. Bake for 28–32 minutes until golden and set in the center.

12. Let cool completely before slicing into squares.


Notes

Always let the bars cool completely before slicing to get clean, neat squares.

Use parchment with overhangs so lifting the bars out of the pan is hassle-free.

Sprinkle flaky sea salt before baking for an elevated sweet-salty finish.
