Description

A towering, cheesy Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie that eats like a cross between deep-dish pizza and a comfort-food casserole. It’s packed with seasoned ground beef, Italian sausage, and lots of pepperoni, layered with marinara and melty mozzarella in a sturdy deep-dish crust. Perfect for quick dinner, easy dinner, and weekend food ideas—great for breakfast ideas the next day as leftovers, too. Family-friendly, crowd-pleasing, and absolutely craveable; this easy recipe doubles as party fare and dinner ideas when you want something hearty without fuss.

Ingredients

1 deep-dish 9-inch pie crust

1 lb ground beef

8 oz Italian sausage (casings removed)

4 oz pepperoni slices

2 cups shredded mozzarella

1/2 cup grated Parmesan

1 1/2 cups marinara sauce

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Fit the crust into a deep-dish pie pan and crimp edges.

2. Blind bake the crust 8–10 minutes until just set; cool slightly.

3. Heat olive oil in a skillet; sauté onion 3–4 minutes, add garlic 30 seconds.

4. Add ground beef and Italian sausage; cook, breaking up, until browned. Drain well.

5. Season meat with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; stir in 1/2 cup marinara.

6. Spread 1/4 cup marinara over crust; sprinkle 1/2 cup mozzarella and 2 tbsp Parmesan.

7. Layer meat mixture evenly; top with 3/4 cup marinara.

8. Add 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, remaining Parmesan, and most of the pepperoni.

9. Spoon remaining marinara in small dollops; finish with remaining pepperoni.

10. Bake 35–40 minutes until cheese is bubbling and pepperoni edges are crisp.

11. Shield crust edge with foil if browning too fast.

12. Rest 10 minutes; slice into 6–8 servings and enjoy.

Notes

Blind-bake the crust briefly to prevent a soggy bottom under the saucy, cheesy layers.

Drain the cooked meats well; excess grease makes the pie heavy and the crust soft.

Let the pie rest 10 minutes before slicing so layers set and slices stay tidy.
