Description
Decadent Hot Fudge Pie is the ultimate dessert for chocolate lovers—a rich, gooey, brownie-like filling in a tender pie crust. It strikes a perfect balance between fudge and cake, making it the centerpiece of any dessert table. Whether served warm with ice cream or chilled for a firmer slice, it’s indulgent, simple, and unforgettable.
Ingredients
0.5 cup unsalted butter
2 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
0.25 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
0.25 teaspoon salt
1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
Chocolate shavings or curls
Crushed nuts
Sea salt flakes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch pie crust in a pie dish and chill while making the filling.
2. In a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate together over low heat, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until light and well combined.
4. Gradually whisk in the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent scrambling.
5. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir gently until just combined, then mix in vanilla extract.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the top is set but the center still jiggles slightly.
8. Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or chilled with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Always let the pie cool before slicing to prevent a runny center.
Use high-quality chocolate for a richer, deeper flavor.
Serve with cold elements like ice cream or berries for contrast.
