Ingredients

1 lb cheese tortellini

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp butter

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2 minutes per side or until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

3. Lower heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic to the same pan. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Pour in heavy cream and let it simmer gently for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently.

5. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.

6. Return tortellini and shrimp to the pan. Toss gently to coat everything in the sauce and heat through for 2–3 minutes.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra black pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the smoothest Alfredo texture.

Do not overcook the shrimp—once pink and curled, they’re ready.

Add a bit of pasta water to loosen the sauce if it becomes too thick.
