Description
Creamy Sausage Gnocchi is a rich, one-pan dish featuring soft potato gnocchi cooked directly in a garlic-infused cream sauce with savory Italian sausage and Parmesan cheese. It comes together in under 30 minutes, making it an easy and comforting option for weeknight dinners or cozy date nights.
Ingredients
16 ounces gnocchi
8 ounces Italian sausage (spicy or sweet)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through (6–8 minutes).
2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Pour in chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
4. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer for 3–4 minutes.
5. Add gnocchi, stir to coat, then cover and let cook for 5–6 minutes until gnocchi is tender.
6. Remove the lid, stir in Parmesan cheese, and cook for 1 more minute.
7. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve immediately.
