Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

0.5 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

1 cup long grain white rice

2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

0.5 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

0.5 teaspoon onion powder

2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs

1 teaspoon lemon zest

salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of broth to a boil. Rinse 1 cup of rice and add to the broth with 1 tablespoon butter, 0.5 teaspoon onion powder, and salt. Cover and simmer for 15–18 minutes.

2. Once rice is cooked and rested for 5 minutes, stir in 0.5 cup heavy cream, garlic powder, herbs, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper.

3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 3 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

4. Add seasoned shrimp to the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until pink and lightly golden.

5. Add lemon juice and toss to coat shrimp in garlic butter.

6. Scoop creamy rice into bowls, top with shrimp, and drizzle remaining pan sauce.

7. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Always let your shrimp come to room temperature before cooking for the best texture.

Stirring the rice off the heat helps avoid curdling the cream.

Taste and adjust seasoning after adding cream to balance the flavors.
