A comforting one-pan dinner made with smoky chicken sausage, creamy orzo, spinach, and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for a quick, hearty, and flavorful weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Stir in the orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Add spinach and cooked sausage back to the skillet. Stir until spinach wilts.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
