Tender pasta shells are smothered in a rich, cheesy, and savory beef sauce that’s both comforting and ridiculously easy to make. It’s the kind of easy dinner that works perfectly for weeknights, leftovers, or feeding a crowd on a budget. Whether you’re searching for quick dinner ideas, hearty family meals, or easy comfort food recipes, this one-pot wonder has you covered. Plus, it’s ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

8 oz medium pasta shells

1 lb ground beef

1 small yellow onion, finely diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta shells until just shy of al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large deep skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.

3. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

4. Mix in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes to deepen the flavor.

5. Stir in beef broth and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes. Lower the heat and pour in heavy cream, stirring gently.

6. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

7. Add the cooked pasta shells into the sauce and toss to coat. Let simmer for another 2–3 minutes.

8. Turn off the heat. Adjust seasoning if needed and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

Slightly undercook the pasta so it finishes perfectly in the sauce without becoming mushy.

Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melt and flavor—pre-shredded tends to clump.

For extra depth, cook the tomato paste with the meat and spices for a richer base.
