- 1 lb elbow macaroni

- 3 cups whole milk (warmed)

- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Gruyère or fontina (optional)
Breadcrumb Topping:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)
- 1/2 cup reserved cheddar cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil pasta until just under al dente. Drain and set aside.
