This is one of those dinner ideas that will win over even the pickiest eaters—delicious, easy, and totally addictive.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fresh green beans (or 3 cans, drained)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 4-5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then chop into small pieces. Reserve a spoonful of bacon grease if desired.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and black pepper. Stir until sugar dissolves into a smooth glaze. Optional: add bacon grease for extra flavor.
  5. Place green beans in a baking dish. Pour glaze over the beans and toss gently to coat.
  6. Sprinkle crumbled bacon evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the glaze is bubbling and slightly caramelized.
  8. Stir gently before serving and enjoy!
