1/2 pound lump crab meat
1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons butter
2 small shallots, finely chopped

2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
1/3 cup dry white wine
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add shallots, garlic, and celery. Cook for 4–5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
2. Stir in tomato paste, Old Bay, paprika, and cayenne. Cook for 2 more minutes to toast spices.
3. Sprinkle in flour and stir constantly to form a roux. Cook 1–2 minutes.
4. Pour in white wine, deglaze the pan, and let it reduce slightly. Add seafood stock and stir.
5. Bring to a gentle simmer, reduce heat, and add cream. Simmer 10–15 minutes.
6. Add crab and shrimp. Cook 5 minutes or until shrimp is pink and cooked through.
7. Season with salt and pepper. Blend part of the soup if desired for smoother texture.
