The contrast of textures—dense brownie, smooth cheesecake, and a slightly crackled top—makes every bite irresistible. Whether you’re searching for an easy recipe to impress or a satisfying chocolate fix, these Cheesecake Brownies deliver with both flavor and flair.

Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving a bit of overhang on the sides.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold gently until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
  5. Spread 2/3 of the brownie batter into the pan. Smooth the cheesecake layer on top.
  6. Dollop remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake and swirl with a knife or leave as-is for layers.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the center is just set.
  8. Cool completely in the pan, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
