Ingredients
- 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
- 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 12 wooden or bamboo skewers
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Wash and pat dry the cherry tomatoes. Drain the mozzarella balls and set them aside. Pick fresh basil leaves.
- Assemble the skewers: Take a skewer and thread on one cherry tomato, followed by a mozzarella ball and a fresh basil leaf. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving a little space at the end for handling. Repeat with the remaining skewers.
- Season the skewers: Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
- Add finishing touches: Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Serve and enjoy: Caprese Skewers are best served fresh. If making ahead, refrigerate and drizzle with oil and balsamic glaze just before serving.
