A simple, crowd-pleasing dessert that combines the ease of a yellow cake mix with the rich flavor of toffee and toasted nuts. Perfect for potlucks, bake sales, or anytime you crave a chewy, buttery treat.
Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg until a thick dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust and spread it gently.
- Sprinkle toffee bits evenly over the top.
- Add chopped nuts and gently press them into the surface.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is set.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
