These Baked Pears with Honey & Walnuts are a warm, wholesome dessert that’s both simple and elegant. Ripe pears are roasted until tender with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and crunchy toasted walnuts. This naturally gluten-free treat is perfect for chilly nights or dinner parties when you want something comforting yet refined. It’s easy to customize and feels indulgent without being heavy.
Ingredients
4 ripe but firm pears
4 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional)
Fresh thyme or rosemary, for garnish (optional)
1/4 cup fresh or dried berries (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Wash and peel the pears. Slice a small piece from the bottom of each pear so they stand upright.
3. Carefully core the pears from the bottom using a melon baller or small spoon.
4. Place the pears upright in a snug baking dish.
5. Drizzle each pear with lemon juice.
6. Spoon honey generously over each pear, letting some drip into the hollowed centers.
7. Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the pears.
8. Add a pat of butter to the top of each pear, if using.
9. Scatter chopped walnuts and optional berries around the pears.
10. Bake for 30–35 minutes, basting once or twice with the pan juices.
11. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
12. Serve warm, garnished with herbs if desired.
Notes
Naturally gluten-free and can be made vegan with simple swaps.
Use Bosc or Anjou pears for best texture.
