Description
Golden, tender pears baked until just caramelized, filled with creamy goat cheese, tart cranberries, and finished with a drizzle of honey. Elegant yet simple, perfect for dessert, brunch, or a holiday appetizer.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
- 6 oz goat cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 3 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted (optional)
- 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped candied pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Slice pears in half lengthwise and remove cores with a melon baller or small spoon. Trim the bottoms so they lay flat.
- In a bowl, mix goat cheese with orange zest and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Place pears cut-side up in the dish. Fill each cavity with goat cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle cranberries on and around the pears. If using, add brown sugar and brush pears with melted butter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until pears are tender and cheese is slightly golden.
- Remove from oven. Drizzle with honey while warm.
- Garnish with nuts and rosemary before serving.
