Description

Golden, tender pears baked until just caramelized, filled with creamy goat cheese, tart cranberries, and finished with a drizzle of honey. Elegant yet simple, perfect for dessert, brunch, or a holiday appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
  • 6 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped candied pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Slice pears in half lengthwise and remove cores with a melon baller or small spoon. Trim the bottoms so they lay flat.
  3. In a bowl, mix goat cheese with orange zest and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  4. Place pears cut-side up in the dish. Fill each cavity with goat cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle cranberries on and around the pears. If using, add brown sugar and brush pears with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until pears are tender and cheese is slightly golden.
  7. Remove from oven. Drizzle with honey while warm.
  8. Garnish with nuts and rosemary before serving.
